One of the most moving details of our transition to Grandview is the monument in the east yard. When
we were buying the home, we read about a monument that was installed many years ago. When we
found the monument hidden behind some overgrown bushes, we began to learn how important this
would become to us. There is an inscription on the stone shield written in Welsh which reads “Heb dhuw
Heb ddim, Dhuw a digon”. As we were praying about buying the home and looking for God’s lead, we
learned that this is translated “Without God, nothing. God is enough”. We couldn’t have been more
thrilled to get our “sign”. We felt like God was telling us that he was going to take care of us during this
massive undertaking. Then, about three months later at the Passover assembly in 2022, Elizabeth
Hannah was sharing a story of a dream that she had about an enormous lion protecting her and her
family, and her belief that this was God letting her know he was watching over her. This triggered our
memories that there was a lion on the shield on this monument. Once we started thinking about it and
examining it more closely, we realized there are 5 lions on this monument—one to represent each of
our children! Amy and I know this place is not just for us, but for our children and our children’s children
to know that God is enough and he will always provide.
